In a world of digital trends, most youths are engaged in using social applications, video games and face challenges while making sound financial decisions. In order to financially educate youths, Global Money Week (GMW) 2025 empowers them with essential financial knowledge. As one of the most trusted and leading financial institutions in Nepal, we are committed to providing the next generation with the information and skills needed for responsible money management. Our commitment is reflected in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which include financial literacy programs and community engagement activities.
Understanding Global Money Week
Global Money Week is an annual financial awareness campaign led by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It educates youngsters how to analyze finances and make responsible choices for a stable future by trying to promote smart financial behaviors at a young age.
The theme for 2025, “Think before you follow, wise money tomorrow”. This year, we proudly support Global Money Week (GMW) 2025, an international initiative that promotes financial education among young people. This 13th edition is celebrated from March 17 to 23, 2025(Chaitra 4 to 10 2081).
Think Before You Follow
Digital Influence: Financial trends and recommendations in today’s digital era are typically influenced by social media influencers known as “influencers” and the increased use of Artificial Intelligence. The youth are particularly vulnerable to such influences and may be deceived into following financial trends without understanding the implications.
Herd Mentality: The message highlights the importance of breaking the herd mentality, where individuals make money decisions on the basis of what others do, rather than their own research and knowledge. It can lead to poor money decisions, especially on the basis of peers or social media.
Wise Money Tomorrow
Critical Thinking: The subject requires youth to develop critical thinking in order to interpret finance information and guidance. With critical thinking, they will be able to identify credible sources and not be deceived by biased or false information.
Long-term Financial Stability: By making good decisions now, youth can establish the foundation for a prosperous future. This means learning to save, invest wisely, and manage finances successfully.
Our Commitment to Financial Literacy
Financial literacy acts as a building block of secure and prosperous future. We as a responsible partner recognize the importance of tutoring the young generation about savings, healthy spending and wise investments. Organizing various activities we are committed to equipping future generations with all the tools required to excel the financial world effectively.
Key Objectives of GMW 2025
- Enhancing financial knowledge: Providing education to teach the children and young people basic ideas of investment, savings, and banking.
- Promoting good decision-making: Providing financial responsibility knowledge through interactive educational workshops to develop good decision-making.
- Supporting safe financial habits: Creating awareness on prevention of fraud and responsible digital transactions.
